Hello Lewis County! How are you this week?
It’s the beginning of a new year that hopefully will be better for us all. Perhaps we can get back to closer to what our normal use to be in 2021.
There’s a lot going on in Lewis County currently. COVID 19 is on everybody’s mind. We need to keep wearing our masks, washing our hands and social distancing as much as we can in an effort to get this past us.
I know it’s bothersome to always have to wear a mask out in public, but the doctors and Governor Justice assure us this will help stop this pandemic. We definitely need it to stop.
Congratulations go out to Sandy King. She retired at the end of 2020 as director of Our Neighbor. She’s been the director for 27 years. That’s a lot of experience with the community. She always did such wonderful work in helping the community in every way possible.
We also want to welcome Shonda Hicks and wish her good luck as the new director of Our Neighbor.
Congrats to Nate Stansberry on being hired by the City of Weston as the new city manager. It’s great to have a local guy with an understanding of Weston in that position. That will surely help the city’s future development.
Stansberry is LCHS and Marshall University graduate.
Lewis County got Baby New Year on January 1, 2021. More congratulations go out to the new parents.
Laura Nicholson and Chris Clark welcomed seven pound, two ounce son Ryder at 8:34 a.m.
Little Ryder was delivered by Dr. Brian Bower at SJMH.
Ray Smith and I have been doing a podcast ever Wednesday at 7 p.m. about all things Lewis County and central West Virginia. You can tune in at Locally Lewis on Facebook.
Tune in. We’d lover to hear from you.
