Clise’s Cornucopia Writers
John Clise has been writing the Clise’s Cornucopia column for 25 years, so when he decided to start this website he figured why not go with what you know. His first media job was at FM 96.7 WAXT then located in Alexandria, Indiana in the fall of 1988. Since then he’s worked in radio, print newspapers, and now the world of the Internet. He attended Vincennes University and Glenville State College majoring in English with a minor in Journalism, English literature, and a component in technical writing.
David Taylor is a retired major crimes detective, and world traveler. He has a Facebook page dedicated to Vintage Ocala/Marion County – Florida Law Enforcement page on Facebook that you should visit for some great law enforcement nostalgia. He’s one of the foremost experts in the world on serial killer Aileen Wuornos having dealt with the case as a police detective. He has a BA in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University, and Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law.
Dorothy Strauss is another world traveler. She’s also a minister of the gospel, and dedicated daughter and friend. From West Virginia to the Ukraine and back there are few places she hasn’t been. She has a BA in English, business from Fairmont State University. She also studied Ukrainian language through the Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute earning a certificate of completion.
Rebecca Pickens Clise serves as our copy editor and chief photography editor, as well writing stories and taking pictures herself. She’s an avid reader. She loves comic-cons, and Loki. She even has a fan photo with John Barrowman aka Captain Jack Harkness from Doctor Who. She’s a graduate of Marshall University with a BA in Criminal Justice/Legal Studies as a John Marshall scholar. She graduated summa cum laude with a Masters in Business Administration, focus in international business matters from Salem University.
The Cat Called Bob writes when the mood strikes… usually after a nap. He wouldn’t mind you liking his page. Bob is eight years old. He was born on the back porch of the office along with four brothers and sisters. He enjoys watching birds, sleeping in the afternoon sun, and head rubs.
